This new version of WordPress is a security release. We suggest all WordPress website owners upgrade to this version.

• WordPress 7.0.4 is a security release that fixes a remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability affecting authenticated users.

  
  

• This update prevents users with Author privileges or higher from exploiting a vulnerability to upload a malicious file and potentially execute unauthorized code on websites that use Imagick and Ghostscript.

The previous version of WordPress was 7.0.3 on August 6, 2026.
